The Mundy Ranch sits at the base of the Tusas Mountains, a ridge-like extension of the southern Rocky Mountains.  It is about 90 miles from Santa Fe New Mexico on a well-maintained state highway.  The ranch is about 12 miles from Chama New Mexico that sits at the base of the Colorado Rocky Mountains.

The ranch is rich in recreational mountain resources.  Canones Creek and the Brazos River provide unparalleled angling for feisty native trout.  The many stocked mountain ponds and nearby Heron and El Vado lakes provide still water opportunities, including fishing for 20 pound plus Lake Trout.  And the Chama, just minutes from the ranch, is home to record-breaking trophy Brown Trout.

As one of the main watersheds for the entire State of New Mexico, the Chama River Valley is free of industrial pollutants and shows only light development.  In nearby Chama you’ll find groceries, restaurants and all the services you’ll normally require.  For larger items, a quick trip down the valley will take you to big box retailers and virtually unlimited services.

As you can see from the satellite views, the Mundy Ranch sits in a sheltered mountain valley, surrounded by high peaks.  Winter snows help keep the valley green and there are over 300 days of sunshine every year.   The sheltered location also means no tornadoes or exceptional winds like you might find in other Rocky Mountain locations.
