The Mundy Ranch offers large land holdings of 140 +/- acres. Nestled at the foot of New Mexico’s Brazos cliffs, the ranch extends from Highway 84-64 to the top of the Brazos Ridge of the Tusas Mountains, a spectacular extension of the Rocky Mountains.
At the highway, the ranch is just about 12 miles from the Village of Chama. If you are looking for convenience and easy year-round access, you might select one of the parcels of land near the highway. There is good selection of lots with ease of access here. Heading east from the highway, the ranch enters rolling foothills in the Brazos River Valley. Many lots in this section afford magnificent views of the Brazos Cliffs and Brazos Falls.
In this lower section of the ranch you’ll also find Canones Creek and some of the ranch’s productive trout ponds. Canones Creek and the ponds are only open to Mundy Ranch owners, recreation members and their guests.
To the northeast the Mundy Ranch quickly gains altitude. If you are looking for seclusion and privacy, the parcels in the vicinity of Daggett Canyon are a good bet. This is true alpine land, blanketed in Ponderosa Pine, Douglas Fir and Quaking Aspens. In the fall, the golden hues of the Aspens set against the bright blue New Mexico sky will take your breath away.
The higher reaches also abound in wild game – majestic elk, mule deer and the Merriam turkey roam freely on this land. To help preserve this critical habitat, the building envelopes are 10-20 acres with the balance of the 140 acres in conservation easement. Sensible covenants guarantee that this wilderness land will always be pristine.
